Lewis Hamilton sets new records with the Ninth British Grand Prix win.
If you've been watching Formula 1 for a while, you've likely heard about Lewis Hamilton regularly breaking records. After a two-season absence from the top spot on the podium, Lewis Hamilton ended a 945-day winless streak at the 2024 British Grand Prix, extending his career wins to 104. This victory at Silverstone allowed him to set several new records:
- Most wins at a single circuit by one driver, with nine victories at Silverstone, surpassing his and Michael Schumacher's previous record of eight wins each.
- Most podiums at a single circuit, with 15 podiums at Silverstone.
- First driver to win a race after their 300th start in F1.
- Oldest winning driver in the 21st century.
What's even more exciting is the potential for back-to-back wins. Lewis's next race is at the historic Hungaroring, one of his most successful tracks. He holds a record nine pole positions and, until this past weekend, had a record eight wins at this circuit. With a pole position and win in Hungary, Lewis could break even more records.
